Make an entrance!

one of my favorites, so quirky and fun!

I was going through my "future home" inspiration folder that I've been keeping for a couple years now, and realized that I have quite an obsession with entryways! Maybe it's because I don't really have much of an entryway where I live right now (the door opens straight to the kitchen), or maybe I just really love the way you can make such a statement about your personal style with such a small area. It's a lovely thing to immediately fall in love with someone's home from the minute you walk in the door. Whatever my reason is for the obsession, I have so many pictures I thought I'd share them with you. Hope you Enjoy!

I thought this stained glass was so unique!

I saved this one because I really love the way the white & yellow pop against that deep brown.

For all I know, I saved this because I thought the boots looked cute sitting under the console table.

I love the idea of all these hooks. They look great and are super functional (this might get rid of my current problem of always having my handbag on the floor). Plus wouldn't it be great to be able to grab an umbrella this quickly if you realized it was raining when you opened the door? I always feel like I can NEVER find that thing when I need it.

The gray paneling and the pattern on the floor is kind of old school librarian, but I still dig it.

If you know me personally you may think I saved this photo solely for the adorable owl umbrella holder. While yes, that was definitely a factor, I also loved the painted white wood floors. I think it really makes that blue chair and the console table pop!

I swoon over anything in black & white, and this is no exception. :)

see note above about my black & white combo obsession, lol.

This is a FABULOUS chandelier! Just from this view alone, I'm willing to bet this is an amazing summery home.

Have a favorite?

Photo Credit: I believe most, if not all, of these photos are from House Beautiful (there may be one or two thrown in from Domino). I apologize I saved these photos long before I started blogging and never thought I would need to remember where they came from.

  1. So great! I like the top photo the best - warm and inviting colors... and so fun!

  2. I love that turquoise chandelier and the yellow stools in the first photo! I think that colorful touches are so pretty against neutral backgrounds :)

  5. I love the collection of hooks and that turquoise chandelier is ah-mazing.

  6. My favorite is the room with the white painted floors and owl umbrella holder. Oh, I love painted wood floors. I would love to do it in one of my bedrooms since the floors aren't in great shape to begin with. They make everything else POP. Great photos.

  7. Hi Bre- so glad you visited so now I've found you. All of these entryways made my heart go pitter patter. I too have a longing for a real entryway with room for that owl umbrella stand (♥ owls!) and hooks, and a table with fresh flowers and a big mirror, etc...

  11. There are some great entryways here! I just adore the first -- the yellow just makes it for's an instant "welcome"...also, the one with the eclectic mix of hooks -- how fabulous. It almost looks like art, the way it is arranged...

    Hope you're having a lovely week :)

  12. I love having "future home" inspiration photos. It makes me so excited to decorate! I would never think to do a brown wall but you are so right, with that pop of yellow it looks fab!

  13. I love the photo with the painted white wood floors, and walls. It makes everything with color in the room, pop.

  14. 120% that one with orange and grey - which I have a bit of an obsession about, as my blog indicates! Also really a fan of the black and white. And the first image is a great one - I've been mulling over doing a patterned "panel" in an entry way, but this is the first time I've seen it. Officially a like.

  15. I find the second picture intriguing, I'd love to have a look around that house!

Thank you for your lovely comment,
