We've all been seeing this nerdy chic (read: giant eyeglasses) look lately, and I must confess I find it quite endearing. I saw a young girl helping her mom at a flea market a few weeks back sporting these oversized, thick-goggles and on her they looked incredibly adorable (she was also about 16, tall, slender, and had long blonde locks....so what wouldn't look adorable on her? lol).
I don't think I'd ever go there myself with this look, as I wouldn't want to come off as nerd gone wrong a la Britney Spears (see last photo below), but I can still find it charming and say "more power to you!" if you have the confidence to pull this off.
What do you think of it?
I LOVE big nerdy glasses!! They give a girl so much more intrigue & character...me likey :)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and it's oh-so lovely! Following you ow and gonna read up more on the DIY chandeliers! As for the nerdy chic look - yep - I got a pair of faux glasses but honestly I think it makes it harder to see with them on. So sadly I rarely wear them.

I think that they look fab on models but I'm quite certain that I could never pull them off!

I don't really like them ... at all.
ReplyDeleteBut that's because I wore glasses from the time I was 3 years old until I was 19 years old.
So I guess I just have a natural hatred towards them :P

Hi Bre, thanks for following my blog (right back at you! Your blog is brill). Funnily enough I was at Dublin Flea Market on Sunday and I too saw a tall blonde young lass trying on nerdy glasses. I have to admit part of me was like that is so cool but she was so young and chic even without the glasses!!! I know I wouldnt get away with it..a really cross School Librarian springs to mind!!!?! Sinead
ReplyDeleteIm not a massive fan of them, but i think they look stunning on Miroslava Duma!

I like the first look, she is definitely hot in those glasses! I love men in glasses too for some reason ;) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI just got new glasses and they are maroon and don't have a rim on the bottom, I'm very happy w them. I feel like they're pretty trendy. :) Also, love the chandy garden idea. Glad I stopped by, would love for you to check me out as well!
