Happy (Sexy Strappy Shoes) Friday!

Aldo Sexy Stilettos, $100. Love this bright blue.

I'm a definite shoe-a-holic and it's been way too long since I've done a decent shoe shopping excursion. I may even be having withdrawals! To help ease the pain, I've done a little online searching for some extra fun strappy heels (this will hold me over for a week or two, lol). Here are the results of my search. Hope you ENJOY!

Alejandro Ingelmo Bianca Booties $525. A definite statement shoe!

Chinese Laundry Lace-ups, $90.

N.Y.L.A. Quinto Booties, $99.95 @ DSW

No 704b Amanda Leather Cut Out Platform Pump, $109 @ DSW. Yes this one technically isn't "strappy", but it intrigues me. I'd really like to see how this one looks on.

SM Candi Bootie in Beige, $64.95 @ DSW. I think this snakeskin color is a great bootie option for Spring & Summer.

SM Candi Bootie in Black, $64.95 @DSW. If you don't want to brave the snakeskin, this shoe is also available in classic black.

Make an entrance!

one of my favorites, so quirky and fun!

I was going through my "future home" inspiration folder that I've been keeping for a couple years now, and realized that I have quite an obsession with entryways! Maybe it's because I don't really have much of an entryway where I live right now (the door opens straight to the kitchen), or maybe I just really love the way you can make such a statement about your personal style with such a small area. It's a lovely thing to immediately fall in love with someone's home from the minute you walk in the door. Whatever my reason is for the obsession, I have so many pictures I thought I'd share them with you. Hope you Enjoy!

I thought this stained glass was so unique!

I saved this one because I really love the way the white & yellow pop against that deep brown.

For all I know, I saved this because I thought the boots looked cute sitting under the console table.

I love the idea of all these hooks. They look great and are super functional (this might get rid of my current problem of always having my handbag on the floor). Plus wouldn't it be great to be able to grab an umbrella this quickly if you realized it was raining when you opened the door? I always feel like I can NEVER find that thing when I need it.

The gray paneling and the pattern on the floor is kind of old school librarian, but I still dig it.

If you know me personally you may think I saved this photo solely for the adorable owl umbrella holder. While yes, that was definitely a factor, I also loved the painted white wood floors. I think it really makes that blue chair and the console table pop!

I swoon over anything in black & white, and this is no exception. :)

see note above about my black & white combo obsession, lol.

This is a FABULOUS chandelier! Just from this view alone, I'm willing to bet this is an amazing summery home.

Celebrity Girl Crush: Emmy Rossum

via splashnews online

I have a girl crush on Emmy Rossum. I think she is just adorable and always looks so fresh and classy (you won't find any britney-esque peep shots of her climbing out of a limo anytime soon). She is one of those celebrities that doesn't demand a lot of attention and appears to be just a lovely, and well-adjusted woman. So to that end, I thought'd I share a few recent photos of her and her adorableness (I'm particularly fond of the first image above). Enjoy!

Confession

image via style pill

We've all been seeing this nerdy chic (read: giant eyeglasses) look lately, and I must confess I find it quite endearing. I saw a young girl helping her mom at a flea market a few weeks back sporting these oversized, thick-goggles and on her they looked incredibly adorable (she was also about 16, tall, slender, and had long blonde locks....so what wouldn't look adorable on her? lol).

I don't think I'd ever go there myself with this look, as I wouldn't want to come off as nerd gone wrong a la Britney Spears (see last photo below), but I can still find it charming and say "more power to you!" if you have the confidence to pull this off.

What do you think of it?

P.S. If you liked my post yesterday and are looking for a DIY option to make your own garden chandelier, Gillian at Dried Figs and Wooden Spools came up with a really fabulous LED chandelier for her garden (evidenced below). Want the how-to? Just click here.

Chandeliers for the Garden

I'm in love with the look of simple and colorful chandeliers for outdoors. I saw this photo and ooo-ed out loud and told my husband we must must do this when we get a home. I want a really lush green garden and it'd be great to have these chandeliers out there to light it up so we could enjoy the garden at night time too! Sometimes it seems people have really beautiful landscaping, but never spend anytime out in the yard...I most certainly will spend a lot of time out in our yard and there is no reason we can't dine among the stars in the summertime with the proper setup.

Lucky for me, he likes the look too (he's very particular about things and he already has our future front yard landscaped in his head - while on our bike ride this weekend he pointed out certain trees on our path that he wants to plant in our yard).

Since this one is getting saved to my "future garden" files, I thought I should share it with you. Hope you love it too!

Happy (beauties on bikes) Friday!

image via Radley London.

Happy Friday everyone! This weekend I'll be hanging out with my sisters and watching one of them sing in a play up in Los Angeles. I'm also hoping to squeeze in a nice long bike ride around Newport Back Bay and down to the beach with the hubby. Maybe we can stop for some ice cream or a frozen banana while we're there?

I'm leaving you with some photos of beauties on bikes, even though I know I won't look half this glamorous on my ride (I will most certainly be working hard to earn that frozen banana!). What are you doing this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy!

Celebrate Earth Day with H&M

H&M Garden Collection dress, $39.95.

In honor of Earth Day I thought I'd share H&M's new Garden Collection, which consists of sustainable clothing that is made from recycled & organic materials. What perfect timing for women everywhere to fashionably celebrate this occasion! Although I haven't seen this collection in person, I'm quite impressed because usually clothing in the sustainable or organic category tends to be a little pricey, but these pieces still carry the standard (affordable) H&M prices. Enjoy!

I'm quite fond of that motorcycle jacket and the floral skirt. What's your favorite?

Need Votes: Floppy Hats

I love love the look of floppy hats. It's always reminded me of the ladies at the pony races and it's a little bit glamorous and fun! So I finally bought myself a big black floppy hat for $3 at a swap meet a couple months ago. I figured I would wear it to the beach this Summer, but I'm not sure how I feel about using this as part of my regular weekend wear. As much as I love the look, when I put it on just to run around town I feel like maybe I look a little too over the top...so I'm torn. What do you think of the look as regular weekend wear? I need your votes: Wear the hat around town or keep it as a beach only look?

Green Scene Inspired Dress Picks

One of my photos from Green Scene on Saturday.

As mentioned in a post here last week, I attended the Green Scene Plant & Garden Show this weekend at CSU Fullerton. It was quite a sight to behold! The show itself is held at an arboretum, so it is already beautiful, and then add tons of vendors with tables full of beautiful flowers, ferns, cacti, veggies, and on and on. This beautiful display of nature & greenery got me thinking that I should do a post with beautiful Spring day dresses inspired by my photos from Green Scene. So here it is. Hope you enjoy!

BB Dakota Ivy Dress, $68 at Urban Outfitters.

Floral Cocktail Dress, $27.80 by Forever21.

Sketched Danios Dress, $158 at Anthropologie.

Roped-In Dress, $138 at Anthropologie with tote. So ok, this isn't a flower, but it's a picture I took of a beautiful tote/basket made by the Basket Co-op. I really loved these totes (priced @ $44) and could see myself using one of these in the Summer time when I"m heading out to the beach. They also had some other great gardening baskets (see below) that I could see myself using to pick fruits or veggies once I actually have a real full-on garden.

Garden Baskets by the Basket Co-Op.

And in case you had any doubt, this is a very popular event! People of all types show up with various carts (many home-made) to stash their finds of the day!

And now I'm going to sign off with some funny little garden statues! If you live locally, maybe next year you will think twice about passing up Green Scene. :)
