Here's another round of a designer collaboration with Target, and so far I'm liking what I see. Gaby Basora's new Tucker for Target lookbook has a little safari-girl-meets-gorgeous-prints feel and I can only hope the construction is good enough to justify a few purchases here or there (we all know sometimes these designer collabs have great lookbooks and then we are disappointed by poor construction when we see the garments in the store).
I love the full-on grey jumpsuit as an editorial piece (don't think I could wear it in real life) and that adorable orange shirt dress screams SUMMER! The herringbone coat looks amazing too, but I think this collection looks mostly like great inexpensive pieces to pick up for resort wear...any great vacations coming up? Might want to stop on by and check it out in person - it will be at Target until October 17th. I'll keep my fingers crossed that these look great in person too. :)

I went on Sunday (the day they opened this line...pure coincidence) and I was a little saddened by it. I was pumped about the orange Herringbone jacket but it fit crazy weird and all of the shirt dresses and blouses were blah and didn't feel good - scratchy and terrible.
ReplyDeleteAND a lot of the prints looked lame and cheap in person. Womp womp.
I did really like the cream shirt with the orange dots, but my store was sold out of the smaller sized by the time I got there...pretty much in everything. ick!
@Amie - ahhh what a bummer. You never know with these designer collabs if the fabrics will feel super low quality or not. Sometimes they just aren't impressive, but when the fabrics and construction are nice it is well worth the trip down to Target. Well, not like I really need an excuse to go to Target, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteI got a few tops and that diamonds print dress. I think the sewing construction varied widely from piece to piece. I had to inspect each one very carefully. That orange dress looks soo fabulous in the pics - but I wasn't so wowed in store.

I love these bright, cheery pieces, especially that army green coat!

I got trounced in OC on Sunday morning trying to check this out. I ended up inland at a Greatland where I picked up several pieces without losing my hair to someone's fist. It was a nightmare, but the items are beautiful. I highly recommend!!

Great collection. I wish we got Target over here in France. We have it in Australia... but it's no where near as cool xxx
