Swimwear Search 2010

I'm a little late in the game, but I'm finally starting my Swimwear Search 2010. The dreaded search for the perfect suit that almost always ends in frustration and compromise. Well this year Dan and I have a trip planned to Belize, Cozumel, Honduras, and a couple Caribbean islands....so I know it's getting very late in the Summer but I'll be damned if I can't find SOMETHING that will look halfway great on me since I'm bound to spend 80% of our trip in swimwear. That also reminds me that it's been over 3 months now since I've done any exercise and I should seriously start thinking about getting back to that.

Here are some options that I'm thinking about trying on. The problem with waiting until it's almost August to look for a swimsuit, is that a lot of places are very sold out. I might have to buy online and just return it if it doesn't work out (I really really don't like the thought of not trying on a suit before I purchase it, but most online sites have such great return policies these days I suppose it's not that big of deal). Luckily I have a couple/few months to find a couple/few suits, but since I'm picky and self-conscious about how these might fit...I don't want to be stuck at the last minute with boring old suits in beautiful exotic places. What do you think? Any favorites or other suggestions?

Romper Obsession

I have an obsession with rompers that I can no longer deny. For the past couple years I have told myself that I am just too pear-shaped to sport a romper, and that this was a trend that I should only admire from a distance and certainly not on me. But you know what? They are just too dang cute! So I'm going to romper it up this Summer regardless of my hesitation that these babies don't look as great on me as they do on ladies with a svelte frame. After a little surfing around (seriously I could really just do a one-stop shop at Urban Outfitters, I seem to always end up there) I found some fun little numbers that would be great for Summer weekends in the sunny So. Lucca Couture Ruffle Front Short Romper $58 @ Urban Outfitters. If you're new to the romper idea and aren't brave enough yet to rock a fun print, black is always a good option. You can call it your LBR (Little Black Romper).

Samantha Pleet Run Amok Romper, $178 @ Urban Outfitters. I think the name says it all. :)

Lucca Couture Zip Front Romper $58 @ Urban Outfitters. I'm in love with the fit of this romper; perfect balance of relaxed and comfy, yet still very put together. This romper comes in several different colors too.

Wink Isle Romper, $218 @ Urban Outfitters. I love the detailing on the pockets and the relaxed fit on top.

Desert Wear

I'm heading off to the desert this weekend, and some of the looks here from Planet Blue have me amped to go! I'm ready to rock some heart-shaped sunglasses, colorful gear and kick back. I'm really looking forward to a great weekend with nature and friends (of course!) and am so glad that I think I'm finally done working weekends for awhile. Time to celebrate :)
